Rivet Middle & High School believes that every student should have the opportunity to pursue a high-quality, faith-based education, and that financial limitations should not impede their pursuit. Partnering with our funding division — The Christian Education Foundation (CEF) — and the State of Indiana, Rivet Middle & High School provides tuition assistance and pathways for students to pursue their religious education of high conviction.
The School Choice Scholarship (voucher) provides tuition support from the State of Indiana so parents may choose the educational setting that is best for their child’s needs. To be eligible for a School Choice Scholarship, students enrolling in kindergarten through grade twelve must meet one of these three guidelines:
Student must have legal settlement in Indiana;
Student must be at least five (5) years old and less than 22 years old by October 1 of the school year that the student is applying; and
Student is a member of a household with an annual income (listed below) of not more than 400% of the amount to qualify for the federal free and reduced price lunch program.
The School Choice Scholarship application process will begin March 1, and the application deadline will be September 1. In order to qualify, a student must first be registered and accepted at Flaget Elementary. Once accepted, if you believe your student will qualify, you can submit your 2023 tax return for review.
If you meet the specified Income Guideline (picutred below), contact us for an application. We will submit the application to the State of Indiana Department of Education and notify you of your acceptance. Should there be more applicants in a particular grade level than what our class size can hold, a lottery, in accordance with the State of Indiana’s guidelines, will be held on June 1st to determine who receives the Choice Scholarship Awards.
The Christian Educational Foundation makes available funds for financial assistance, once a year, to those students in need that desire a Catholic education. The grant is for one full school year and applies only to tuition. The amount of the grant is ultimately determined by funds available in the CEF annual budget. Factors in determining grants include financial circumstances and needs of the applicant relative to all applications on file. Contact the CEF Office for more information (office@vincennescef.org).
Tax Credit Scholarship - You can designate Vincennes Catholic School and make a donation to the SGO (Scholarship Granting Organization) through the Institute for Quality Education. Your gift can give a student a life-changing educational opportunity. Students need only to receive the SGO scholarship one year to help them become eligible for the Indiana Choice Scholarship, which is a separate scholarship funded by the Indiana Department
of Education. The Choice Scholarship could cover up to 100% of Vincennes Catholic's tuition and they can receive it every year until they graduate high school. The SGO is privately funded and is also a beneficial program for the donor. The donor gets 50% Indiana tax credit on any donation made. Students who qualify will receive a minimum of $500 scholarship, but donations in any amount will support the cause.
